This renovation project came about when our clients found an older production-built townhome, with outstanding ocean-views. We were called in to modernize and update this home – and the results are amazing!
Unique solutions were required to upgrade the mechanical, electrical, and structural elements of the home. In addition, this is a strata unit, so we had to work closely with the strata management to achieve some of modern-day conveniences.
Large folding patio doors were installed across the back of the home, capturing views of English Bay and beyond. Cleverly-designed architectural beams and fake louvers block an original, tinted, domed skylight that had to stay!
Inside, the staircase was reconfigured with beautiful results and much improved traffic flow. The floating staircase has glass railings which help draw the natural light down the stairs. We also raised the living-room floor so as to minimize the height difference, achieving better liveability and a fabulous look! Wood wall-veins enhance the look of the long wall, by defining the groupings within this open-concept space.
There was a total renewal of the kitchen, which now embraces the view. Custom, white, flat-panel cabinetry and an oversized linear island have made this kitchen functional, and beautiful! A cleverly-designed backsplash window is perfectly-positioned for our client to enjoy the horizon from the breakfast bar.
The transformation of this townhome is incredible and our clients love their new home. For more photos go to our Gallery.
